Woollahra possesses a range of historic gardens, foreshore parks, playgrounds and bushland reserves. Located on the south-eastern shores of Sydney Harbour, many of our parks enjoy views of across Port Jackson to northern Sydney. In suburbs distant from the Harbour, our parks provide opportunities for tranquil retreat or outdoor play, away from the bustle of metropolitan Sydney.
To avoid conflicts between groups, social park hire bookings are required for all groups of over 20 attendees.
A full list of our parks and playgrounds is available.
Throughout Woollahra we maintain over 80ha of parks and thousands of trees. We use pesticides to treat weeds, termites and other pathogens.
In November 2006 Council adopted a Pesticide Use Notification Plan. The aim of this plan is to meet the community’s general right to know about pesticide applications made to outdoor public places that are owned or controlled by public authorities. The plan allows members of the community to take action to avoid contact with pesticides, if they wish.
