NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC celebrates the survival of indigenous culture and the indigenous contribution to modern Australia. All Australians are encouraged to participate in NAIDOC Week activities.
NAIDOC Week celebrations for 2009 will be held from 5 to 12 July. The national theme for 2009 is, Honouring Our Elders, Nurturing Our Youth. The theme encourages our communities to acknowledge the status of our Elders as leaders and role models for our youth.
To celebrate, Woollahra Council is hosting Dreamtime
Preschool Story time. Hear stories about the Dreamtime at this
special story time, celebrating National Aboriginal and Islander Day. After the stories and songs children make
their own dot painting. This story time session will be
held at:
Double Bay Children’s Library on
Monday 6th July, at 10:30am
Watsons Bay Library on Wednesday
8th July, at 4:00pm
Paddington Library on Friday 10th July, at 10:30am
All sessions are free and open to the public.
