Council has a dedicated commitment to supporting indigenous culture within the area and region. Our Reconciliation Statement provides us with a framework for projects and activities, which are then currently supported by our membership of and participation in the Eastern Regional Local Government Aborginal and Torres Strait Islander Forum, and presentation of Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week activities locally.

Through our Community Grants Program we support local organisations such as the Eastern Suburbs Organisation for Reconciling Australia (ESORA) in presenting local Bush Tucker Walks. These popular walks incorporate information on local indigenous culture and heritage as well as tastings. View the area's rich Indigenous Heritage.
