Woollahra Council has awarded annual Community Environmental Grants since 2006. 

All local schools (from early childhood through to high schools) and community groups are encouraged to apply for Environmental Grants to support projects aimed at protecting or enhancing our environment.

Applications for the 2009/10 round of Environmental Grants closes on 30 June 2009.

Woollahra Council will be holding an informative workshop to assist community groups with their grant applications.

The workshop will be held at Woollahra Council Chambers on Monday 25 May at 10.00am - 11.30am in the Committee Room.  Please email celia.busteed@woollahra.nsw.gov.au if you would like to attend.

Examples of the type of projects that may be eligible to receive Environmental Grants include:

• Waste minimisation/Recycling
• Energy saving initiatives
• Water saving initiatives
• Native gardens
• Bush regeneration
• Environmental murals
• Community cleanups
• Environmental education
