Archive Resources Kit

Woollahra Library Local History Centre holds the Archive Resources Kit (ARK) formerly known as Genealogical Research Kit (GRK). This kit was produced by the State Records of New South Wales. State Records NSW has an Archives Resources Kit.

This is available for use by the public. This Kit is used to help locate information regarding family history.

The information in the kit includes:

  • arrivals and departures from colonies in NSW
  • shipping information
  • Births, deaths and marriages
  • Electoral roles
  • 1828 Census
  • professions and occupations

Residential and business directories

The Sands Sydney Directory (PDF): 1858 to 1932/33 is held in microfiche format.
It was published annually and contains information about businesses, addresses and residents.

The sample issues of the NSW telephone directories in the period 1889 to 1985 are also held in microfiche format.
