Legal Information Access Centre collection

Woollahra Library Service is part the Legal Information Access Centre (LIAC) network, providing access to up-to-date legal information. The service is an initiative of the State Library of New South Wales and the Law and Justice Foundation of New South Wales. The aims of the service are to provide and improve access to the law and legal information for the whole community.

Our collection includes:

  • Legal Tool Kit - A collection of plain language resources containing a wealth of legal information. Copies of each book are available in both reference and lending collections.
  • Law Books for libraries - A collection of legal reference books chosen for their effectiveness, plain language and currency.
  • Hot Topics - A series of booklets on recent changes and current issues in the law.                         
  • Free Legal pamphlets - A collection of plain English pamphlets on a variety of topics.

  • NSW Legislation - Parliamentary Counsel's Office - www.pco.nsw.gov.au - Provides all current Acts and Regulations, (annual sessional and consolidations), repealed and point in time legislation.
     
  • Scaleplus - scaleplus.law.gov.au - for Commonwealth legislation. It also includes Commonwealth Bills, Explanatory Notes and legislation for some Territories (not the ACT or NT). Includes useful links to other Australian legislation and caselaw sites.
