Resources in Languages Other Than English (LOTE)

Woollahra Library and Information Service offers books and magazines in a range of languages other than English, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of members of our local community. These collections are housed at both the Central Library at Double Bay and at Paddington Library.

The books in this collection are the property of the State Library of New South Wales as part of their Multi Cultural Services and are made available to the library for a period of 3 months. Members may borrow these for the usual three week loan period. Other languages can be ordered on request through inter-library loans. There is no charge for this service. Requests for particular titles attract the standard inter-library loan charges.

To supplement this collection there are a variety of popular community language magazines available for loan.

MyLanguage - provides access to search engines, web directories and news in over sixty languages. MyLanguage is a partnershipbetween the State Libraries of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, Northern Territory and the ACT Library Information Services.
