Library collections

Woollahra Library and Information Service has a large range of materials for adults and children, including fiction and non-fiction books, magazines, DVDs, videos and books on cassette and CD.  The library service has an extensive reference collection, which includes books and online databases. Woollahra Library and Information Service has participated in the Sydney Subject Specialisation Scheme since 1960.  This cooperative scheme involved Sydney public libraries collecting, in depth, in a particular subject area.

Our specialising subject is Australian and English Literature.  The Dewey numbers are 820-829 and A820-A829 and included are criticism, plays, poetry, letters, essays and speeches.  The Library has a substantial collection of books and journals on Australian and English Literature.

The Woollahra Library and Information Service also has substantial collections in art, history and local history.
