Rhyme Time for babies (0-2 years)

It's free, fun and an interactive program designed for babies aged 0 to 2 years. The session combines rhymes, singing, board books and musical instruments. Rhyme time encourages parents and carers to become fully involved with their babies and toddlers by associating books and songs with parental time and attention.

This program is run during school term only.

  • Double Bay Library - Tuesday 3.30 pm & Friday 10.30am
  • Paddington Library - Thursday 10.30am & 3.30 pm
  • Watsons Bay Library - Thursday 10am &10.30am **

** Please note - A ticketing system is in place for Watsons Bay due to limited space. Numbers are limited to 25 per session and tickets will be made available at the door from 9:30 am. Each child may only attend one session per day.

Storytime for preschoolers (3-5 years)

Storytime is an opportunity for preschool children aged 3 to 5 and their parent or carers to share the joy of literature, language rhythm and rhyme. Each session consists of a theme which incorporates songs, rhymes and a craft activity which helps to promote reading readiness.  All this and it's free!

This program is run during school term only.

School Holiday Activities

Each school holidays we hold exciting and fun activties for primary aged children. Full details will be available a few weeks before the holidays. Please note not that booking are required.

 

Kids Club (for school aged children)

Kid's Club is a fun-filled program for primary aged children held once a month at Watsons Bay Library (on the last Wednesday of the month) and Double Bay Library (on the last Thursday of the month). The sessions start at 4pm and go for just under an hour. Each session offers something new and exciting to do! Guest presenters, games, cool crafts, pizza and light refreshments!

Challenge yourself and your friends to see who knows the most capital cities of the world and make a notebook to take home.

Each month’s club involves a new theme, and guest speakers, games, craft activities and pizza and light refreshments.

Bookings are essential. (Limited to 15 children per session).

In 2013 we aim to actively involve community members and groups as often as possible in our Kids Club sessions. We hope to host visitors from the community as guests to engage with the children and answer questions about their particular jobs or hobbies.

Come along to the Kids Club this June and mix some colours and paint a masterpiece or a mess!

Paint with your hands, a brush, sponges or some leaves. Be creative and paint what you want with whatever you want.

Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing to paint in as it may get messy.

Each month’s club involves a new theme, and guest speakers, games, craft activities and afternoon tea is provided.

Bookings are essential. (Limited to 15 children per session).
