Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water - NSW Home Saver Rebates

The NSW Government rebate program has helped more than 340,000 households save more than 4 billion litres of water and over 350,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions a year. Rebates include:

• Rainwater tank rebate - up to $1500 for rainwater tanks connected to toilets and washing machines
• Hot water system rebate - $300 to switch from electric to solar, heat pump or gas hot water systems
• Hot water circulator rebate - $150 for buying a hot water circulator
• Dual flush toilet rebate - $200 for buying a 4 star dual flush toilet suite

Sydney Water - Residential Rebate Program

WaterFix - will help you reduce your water use by about 21,000 litres of water a year. From just $22 you get up to $180 worth of plumbing services. A qualified plumber will visit your home to install water saving devices. Save up to $66 in water and energy costs each year.

Toilet Replacement Scheme - replace your single-flush toilet with a new 4-star, water-efficient dual-flush toilet. With this all-inclusive service you can save up to $200 on the price of the toilet and installation.

Rainwater tanks - rebates up to $1,500 depending on the date you bought your tank, size of tank and whether the tank supplies your toilet and/or washing machine.

Sydney Water also offers a rebate of up to $2,500 to schools that install a rainwater tank.

Fridge Buyback

Woollahra residents with working second fridges can take advantage of a free collection service by calling Fridge Buyback on 1800 708 401 if they have a second fridge they no longer need that in 10 or more years old and 250 litres or more in size. Residents whose collection involves 6 or less stairs also receive a $35 rebate and save on average $210 off their yearly electricity bills.
