In 2008 Council commissioned consultants to design a series of water sensitive urban design features as part of the proposed streetscape improvement works on Bellevue Road. Permeable paving and rain gardens will reduce urban runoff and help filter pollutants from road runoff before it enters the stormwater system.
These water sensitive urban design (WSUD) works will improve the quality of water flowing into Cooper Park Creek.
This project is still underway and is expected to be completed in April 2010.
