Stormwater Management Working Party

The Stormwater Management Working Party has been established as an advisory body to review Council’s Draft Stormwater Drainage Management DCP. The Working Party will research and investigate:

  • The appropriateness of current detention tank capacity requirements for new development applications in low to moderate flood risk areas.
  • The appropriateness of current detention tanks requirements for new development applications where on site stormwater storage and recycling is in excess of Basix requirements.
  • Opportunities and issues regarding the collection of stormwater from the public domain for private storage and recycling, including collection from Council’s kerbs, gutters and stormwater culverts. including potential cost savings in respect to maintenance and capital works on Council’s stormwater infrastructure due to reduction in stormwater flows.
  • Opportunities and incentives to increase the current take-up of onsite stormwater and recycling for both residential and commercial properties.

At the completion of the review of the current Draft DCP the working party will prepare a report and recommendations to Council.

The Working Party reports to the Community and Environment Committee.

The Stormwater Management Working Party consists of:
