Committees
There are five formal committees of Council that meet regularly to discuss a range of issues, applications and proposals. All committee meetings are open to the public. Committees are as follows:
-
Community & Environment Committee (C&E)
The C&E Committee considers issues relating to services for people and our local environment.
-
Corporate & Works Committee (C&W)
The C&W Committee considers financial, budget and works issues.
-
Development Control Committee (DCC)
The DCC assesses and determines development applications which involve a broad or locality wide interest.
-
Strategic & Corporate Committee (S&C)
The S&C Committee deals with issues that have an impact on the whole of Council.
-
Urban Planning Committee (UP)
The UP Committee considers design and strategic planning issues that affect the municipality.
Council also has a panel that considers development applications (DAs) of a certain nature or scale:
-
Application Assessment Panel (AAP)
The AAP is a panel of senior staff who meet to assess and determine DAs which involve a significant community interest, or have attracted submissions which raise objections that cannot be resolved by way of a condition of consent.
Council also convenes meetings of the Woollahra Local Traffic Committee (LTC):
-
Woollahra Local Traffic Committee (LTC)
The LTC is a technical advisory committee which operates under delegation from the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA). It is chaired by Council and Council is a voting member, the others being the RTA, the Police, and the Local Member(s).
The LTC from time to time also meets as the Local Development Committee to consider traffic impacts of proposed developments on main roads.
