Woollahra Council's Chambers and offices are located at Double Bay, just 10 minutes from the Sydney CBD. The Council is situated at one of the most spectacular harbourside locations Sydney has to offer. The Double Bay shopping area provides a diverse range of retail outlets, restaurants, banks and specialty shops.
Relax on your lunch break in the beautiful surrounds of Blackburn Gardens, take a swim at Redleaf Harbour Pool or have a bite to eat at the Redleaf Kiosk. Woollahra Library is located next to our Council Chambers offering staff a tranquil retreat during lunch breaks and after work.

The restoration and construction of Redleaf (Council's offices and Chambers) by Allen Jack + Cottier won the 2001 Heritage Award presented by EnergyAustralia and the National Trust.
Redleaf combines a unique historical building built c.1863 with a state of the art contemporary design to provide a fantastic work location for staff and a great asset for the community.
Woollahra Council has three depots:
O'Dea Ave Depot

Operating from this Depot are Waste Services, Mechanics, Stores and Property & Projects Trade staff.
Fletcher Street Depot

Maintenance & Construction and the Business Centre Teams operate from this Depot.
Quarry St Depot

Open Space Works operate from this Depot.
Woollahra Council has an active Social Club that organises many events, including Friday night drinks, birthday morning teas, trivia nights, a Melbourne Cup luncheon and Christmas Party. The Social Club also provides members with a contribution to their wedding gift, retirement, or appropriate acknowledgement of their illness or a death in the family.
The Social Club provides an ideal opportunity to meet colleagues and to have fun. Activities are generally based at the Council Chambers.
The Council Chambers are easily accessible by car, train and bus.
Trains operate regularly from Edgecliff Station into the City Circle.
Buses operate regularly to and from Edgecliff Station on New South Head Road. The bus journey to the Council Chambers from the station takes approximately 5 – 10 minutes.
Alternatively, you can enjoy a 20 minute walk to the Council Chambers from Edgecliff Station. If you wish to drive to work, there is street parking available.

The Employee Assistance Program is a confidential, free counselling service set up by Woollahra Council for matters such as stress, alcohol and drug problems, financial affairs and family difficulties. This service is available free of charge to all Council staff and their immediate families.
Woollahra Council encourages a learning environment and an educated organisation through the provision of customised in-house and external training. Council will provide support to employees attending external training for specialist needs or in the attainment of relevant professional qualifications.
Every opportunity will be provided for employees to participate in training to assist with their existing development needs and for future career aspirations and potential.
In addition, Council has developed a formal policy in the support of employee participation in further education. Varying degrees of exam leave/assistance/essential leave is granted to employees depending on the relevance of study to their current position or career path within Woollahra Municipal Council.
Council offers a voluntary program to staff, whose position do not require a uniform, to purchase stylish and professional Corporate Wardrobe items from a designated external supplier. Items purchased are tax deductible and can be paid off via payroll deductions, making them affordable and a great employee benefit!
