The Woollahra School of Philosophy is a new series of quarterly discussion forums bringing together scholars, pioneering minds and the local community for a robust exchange of ideas on contemporary issues. Think somewhere between a TED talk and an episode of Q&A. Topics will range from age and gender politics, new technologies, urban design, environmental issues, animal rights and more. We hope these forums help to foster philosophical and ethical conversations in our local community.
Panellists will be sought from within the local community and nearby academic institutions including academic staff as well as PhD candidates pursuing research.
Each event will start with a brief presentation by the panellists before the discussion is thrown open to the floor for Q&A facilitated by a Council moderator.
We're currently seeking collaborators for our pilot project commencing in late 2017.
We're seeking community feedback. Tell us your ideas for topics via our online survey.
