Satellite dishes

You may erect a communications dish (radio and satellite dish) as exempt development, without development consent, subject to compliance with the specific provisions in the SEPP (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008, Part 2, Subdivision 12, Clauses 2.23 and 2.24.

Communication dishes can not be erected as exempt development on a heritage item, draft heritage item or within a heritage conservation area.

However, if your proposed satellite dish does not satisfy the exempt development criteria in the SEPP, you may refer to Council's Exempt and Complying DCP and apply the standards for satellite dishes as complying development.

If the satellite dish is not covered by either the SEPP as exempt development or Council's DCP as complying development you will need to submit a Development Application.
