Queen Street, Woollahra
118 Queen Street, 1958
Earlier known as Piper Street after early landholder Captain John Piper, Queen Street evolved in the 19th century as the commercial heart of the district. No 118 Queen Street, on the corner of Queen and Moncur Street, was occupied by Solomon’s Pharmacy at the time when this photograph was taken.

The mid-twentieth century streetscape evidences a mix of commercial and residential property, survivors from a century earlier when the locality first developed into the suburb of Woollahra.
